Hello! Cindy Chou (pronounced "Zoh") 周昀 here. I am a professional chef, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), recipe developer, cooking video creator, food photographer, and food writer. I was professionally trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and studied nutritional sciences at NYU and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
I create diverse, globally inspired recipes and cinematic cooking videos, often drawing from my Taiwanese roots and experiences living in North Carolina, Georgia, Taipei, New York City, and California. My work blends culinary storytelling with a deep understanding of nutrition and food science, making home cooking both approachable and nourishing.

After cooking in NYC at places including Haven's Kitchen and at silent meditation retreats, I have been teaching cooking and nutrition classes, working as a private chef, and developing recipes for brands, non-profits, and nutrition organizations. I’ve also worked as a food stylist for video series and online publications, tested recipes for cookbook authors, and create engaging, culturally inclusive content.
My prior experience as a mechanical engineer working at a startup electric car company allows me to approach my culinary and nutrition work with a unique lens.
